About Us

Dr. Matthew Stone is a summa cum laude graduate and a presidential scholar of the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. He graduated as class Valedictorian and was awarded the distinguished Clinical Excellence Award. The Clinical Excellence Award is the highest honor that Palmer College can bestow upon a graduating extern. It is given by the office of the president on behalf of the clinical faculty to only one graduating extern, and exemplifies the highest ideals of the chiropractic profession. During his time at Palmer College, he received numerous awards and scholarships including induction into PI TAU DELTA, an international chiropractic honor society. He served as a teaching assistant for two years in gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, and histology laboratories. Prior to graduation, he participated in a clinical abroad rotation to Hyderabad, India. During his time there, Dr. Stone and his group of colleagues set up a free clinic in the local hospital, seeing over 2500 children and adults for various neuromusculoskeletal disorders.

Dr. Stone moved to Richmond, Virginia to complete his internship. Upon completion of his internship, he joined a multidisciplinary practice in Goochland County, Virginia, where he specialized in family wellness care. In addition to chiropractic practice, Dr. Stone served the American Red Cross as a Certified Instructor of Back Injury Prevention and Ergonomics, and was a member of the prestigious Doctors Speakers Bureau, where he delivered educational workshops and lectures, at no charge, on health-related topics throughout the Greater Richmond community. He is devoted to helping patients attain optimum health through the many benefits of comprehensive chiropractic care. He has a special interest in chiropractic family practice. Dr. Stone enjoys caring for all members of the family, from infants and adolescents to adults and our senior population. He continues his education by attending post-graduate seminars and conferences addressing a wide variety of topics involving the practice of chiropractic.

Dr. Stone left Virginia to return closer to home and joined a great practice in southeastern Massachusetts. He practiced there until opening Glocester Family Chiropractic in February of 2008. He has been away from home for quite some time, and he is excited to finally be able to give back to his family and friends of old, and meet and treat those that have since come since his departure.

Prior to matriculation to Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Stone served as an engineer for the Commonwealth of Virginia and a local consulting firm. He was involved in several prestigious projects during his tenure in Virginia. Some of these projects include the Busch Gardens Interchange in Williamsburg, and multimodal studies of the Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach regions. He was also accepted into Virginia Commonwealth University's Honors Program while taking prerequisites for his doctorate.

Dr. Stone received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering after attending Norwich University, The Military College of Vermont. He attended the university as a Four Year United States Army ROTC Scholarship winner. While at Norwich he participated in ice hockey, golf, and was a member of the Norwich Army ROTC Ranger Platoon. He attained the rank of cadet Lieutenant Colonel, the second highest rank attainable in the corps of cadets, and was in charge of over 300 cadets and equipment as Provisional Battalion Commander. As a first classman, he was inducted into the Universitys Senior Honor Society. Selections were based on loyalty to Norwich and the traditions of the Corps of Cadets.

Dr. Stone is a native of the Burrillville / Glocester region, and is a 1993 graduate of Burrillville High School. He was born and raised in Pascoag, and grew up skating on Fish Pond and Pascoag Reservoir. He played football, hockey, and baseball for the Broncos, and also received student athlete honors. As a boy, he also played soccer in the Burrillville Glocester Youth Soccer Association. When away you could always find him saying,You can take the boy out of Rhode Island, but you can't take Rhode Island out of the boy. Now you will find him saying, It's good to be back home.
